Vancouver Women Speak Out about Birth Management by Midwives

These women are responding to a press release by the College of Midwives of B.C. The College seems to think that birthing women are too vulnerable to choose who they want to attend their birth. This sparked the discussion at the Birth Protest Rally, Nov 28, 2012 in Vancouver BC.

  1. Meghan says:

Gloria, would you know of anyone in the Vancouver tri city area that would consider helping me birth at home after a c section?

  2. Priya says:

I had an ARM with the birth of my daughter. We tried it at home but were unsuccessful, after which I was in the hospital for induction of labour as I was 11 days over my due date. And after three unsuccessful attempts of ARM and inserting gels within a period of 24 hours they finally broke the waters. The labour failed to progress naturally and I ended up having a C-Section. I strongly agree with your post and I wish I would have chosen not to have my membranes ruptured and followed my instincts. Even today I wish to go back and change what happened If I could.
